Open House is held in different places on an irregular schedule. The investigators of ChinaSCINet meet the patients, their relatives or friends, or any other relevant persons to update the new achievements in spinal cord injury studies and the development of this Organization.

Public Lecture “A Promising Therapy for Spinal Cord Injury: Umbilical Cord Blood and Lithium Combination to Stimulate Regeneration”
ChinaSCINet, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong organized a public lecture on 29 August 2010 in Hospital Authority Building. The rationales, background information and challenges of cell transplantation of the clinical trial CN102B "Safety and Feasibility of Umbilical Cord Blood Cell Transplant into Injured Spinal Cord: an Open-Labeled, Dose-Escalating Clinical Trial" was presented by Dr. Gilbert Leung and Prof. Kwok-fai So from The University of Hong Kong, Prof Waisang Poon from Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Wise Young from ChinaSCINet and The State University of New Jersey (Rugters). About 100 spinal cord injured patients and their families were participated and enthusiastically raised questions in the Q&A session.

CN102b Phase I/II Study: Information Session
An information session of CN102b "Safety and Feasibility of Umbilical Cord Blood Cell Transplant into Injured Spinal Cord: an Open-Labeled, Dose-Escalating Clinical Trial" was held in MacLehose Medical Rehabilitation Centre in Jan 2010. Dr Gilbert Leung and Dr Yat-wa Wong from TheUniversity of Hong Kong , Prof. Wai-sang Poon from The Chinese University of Hong Kong , and Prof. Wise Young from ChinaSCINet and The State University of New Jersey , introduced the details of study and answered the queries to more than 30 patients , and their relatives or friends.

This Open House was co-organized by The 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University and China Spinal Cord Injury Network. Professors Xijing He, Jianjun Li, Kwok-Fai So and Wise Young talked with more than 40 spinal cord injured patients and/or their families and friends, answered their questions and gave some advices.
